Description: Douglas J Aveda Institute in Ann Arbor, MI teaches cosmetology, esthiology and massage therapy programs with daytime and evening classes available.The Ann Arbor location is currently the only Douglas J Aveda Institute to offer Massage Therapy. We’re close to public transportation and the University of Michigan so our campus is very accessible for those in student housing.We offer hair design, detailed design, retexturizing, treatments and coloring. We also offer makeup, skin care, waxing, nail therapy, alternative therapy, and massage services. *I had a cut by Jenny Mason and color by Ariana Bieker and both were fantastic! I didn’t wait long, Ariana envisioned exactly what I was asking for and Jenny, well, she is incredible. I love short pixie cuts and she nailed it! I have been looking for a hairstylist since I moved back (7 yrs). I found her!!
*My 60-minute aroma massage was fantastic. Brittney G. was my masseuse, and she did a great job. She has a fine touch, with just the right amount of pressure, and she is a kind and caring individual. She made the whole experience serene and enjoyable. My body felt very relaxed at the end, and my soreness in my hip was gone! The Institute does a great job overall at providing a solid experience even if students are giving the treatments. The students are learning well. I like the atmosphere, from walking into the lobby and being offered tea/water, to the start of the massage with a foot bath, to the music and lighting, and the warm massage bed. The oils and creams are all Aveda products, so only the best unctions are going on my skin, which is a huge bonus also! It’s all worth every penny! I will go back, and I might try the 90-minute massage next time.
*Jeremy C. is FABULOUS! I scheduled a simple haircut and did not pick a specific student stylist. I’m so happy he picked up my appointment! He is so kind and has a lovely personality, while also being thorough at cutting hair.He checked in with me throughout the process to make sure I was happy with my cut. He also helped me relax with his bubbly personality. I will definitely be back to see him!
